Good Day
There is something about life that we all should understand. Life begins and ends which gives us so short a window that many are lost as to the meaning of said life. I asked myself decades ago: “If life is so short then why do we know a damn thing about eternity, not to mention, infinity?” It made no sense that a being, any being and those any beings are limited to the sentient, would not wonder why we are so foreshortened of something we hold so dear. Not just our lives but the lives of those we know and cherish.
It soon became a journey for me to understand why life is so blasted short. I am here at seventy-seven and graduating from high school seems like yesterday afternoon. I looked at science and genetics to better understand the physical limitations of us and came up with blanks. Seems we are not perfect, though, and to be perfect probably means that we would have little chance of dying because the reality of perfection seems to be true knowledge. Were we perfect, and we aren’t, it would reasonably follow that perfect also means physically perfect. That would mean total harmony with our environment and nothing in the world could take us down because we would not place ourselves in harms way ever. Even if we did place ourselves in harms way we would be totally aware of circumstance no matter how far around the corner circumstance was lurking. You gotta think: PERFECT . . . and that means in every way and in ways we cannot think of, being imperfect as we all are.
Look, I am facing the end and not too far off now. I am good with it as I shouldn’t have gotten though combat virtually unscathed so all my life, post combat, has been a blessing. There is a book you can read that might give you a hint as to why we are what we are. The bible tells us in the book of Genesis how we arrived in imperfection from perfection. Look, it isn’t easy to walk out of our world into the world of the bible because the two do not jibe with each other. Different viewpoints are what the bible allows us to consider. But, hey, life is up to you. How are you going to use it as it comes with limitations of time, unknown to you and I?
